Meet Our Doctors
Dr. James Allen
Dr. Allen graduated from The University of The Pacific school of Dentistry in San Francisco California. Upon graduating, he received the award for clinical excellence for the class of 2002.
He continues today with his constant pursuit of clinical excellence.
Dr Allen has received the Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce award for Medical Professional of The Year twice. Dr. Allen is a perfectionist and it shows in his office and the community dental care services he offers. It is his goal to treat each and every patient in a gentle manner and to give them the best possible care. Dr. Allen is a caring and skilled practitioner. He believes in keeping up with the technology and attends many courses to expand his knowledge and sharpen his skills.
Dr. Allen welcomes any questions or concerns you might have about your treatment. He is willing to talk to you at the time of your appointment or if you are more comfortable calling him or just forgot to ask him something at your appointment, he welcomes your call.
Dr. Allen grew up in Idaho Falls but now calls Rexburg his home. Dr. Allen and his wife Katie moved to Rexburg with their two small
children in 2003. Since then they have had three more children and are enjoying raising their family in “America’s Family Community.”
In his free time Dr. Allen enjoys riding his dirt bike, boating, target shooting, and working in his skid-steer. Dr. Allen loves spending time with his family and loves to go new places and see new things with them.
Dr. Thueson’s desire to pursue dentistry started in his youth, largely as a result of an unfortunate encounter during a basketball game involving his front teeth. A crown and some veneers later, his mouth and self-image were transformed, sparking interest in providing the same experience for others.
Dr. Thueson graduated from BYU with a bachelor’s degree in business finance and a minor in Portuguese. He is a true blue cougar fan, and you can often spot him repping the Y with festive socks.
He received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Utah School of Dentistry. As a student, Dr. Thueson was heavily involved in the American Student Dental Association and the Utah Dental Association. He founded the Utah Dental Student Advocacy Day at the State Capitol with a concurrent resolution acknowledging the important clinical role dental students play with underserved populations. A passionate clinician, he earned awards for excellence in prosthodontics, and was named one of three students from his graduating class with the most promise in implant dentistry.
In late 2019, he travelled to the Dominican Republic, and placed 40 implants free of charge for patients at the Implant Training Center in Santo Domingo. Dr. Thueson is a member of the International Dental Implant Association and the American Dental Association.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Thueson loves to cook (fresh pasta and steak are among his specialties), golf and spend time with his family.
